Well there is another SCUM BAG in the paper this morning. This dirt bag should have the same thing done to her as she did to her 7 year old daughter. It makes me sick what some people could do to little children. I love my 7 year old daughter to death. What would make someone do something like this?
Well here it is from the Daily Times this morning :

Mom charged with abusing daughter, 7
By CINDY SCHARR, cscharr@delcotimes.com
04/08/2005

COLLINGDALE-- A former borough woman is behind bars charged with repeatedly burning her 7-year-old daughter with cigarettes, locking the child in a closet and forcing her to fend off the family’s dogs for food.
Carole McDonald, 37, of the 2000 block of Kent Road, Folcroft, formerly of Blackstone Avenue in Collingdale, is being held on $200,000 cash bail. She has a prior conviction and served jail time for child neglect in the past, according to authorities.

McDonald is the mother of several other children, four of whom had previously been placed in foster care, authorities said. Three other children, all older than the victim, are living at the family’s home in Folcroft and did not appear to have been harmed, authorities said. No charges were filed against McDonald’s husband. Delaware County Children and Youth Services brought the disturbing allegations to the attention of Assistant District Attorney Michael Galantino of the D.A. office’s Special Victims Unit. After reviewing the report, Galantino contacted Sgt. Robert Adams, who conducted an investigation. A warrant for McDonald’s arrest was signed Tuesday. She was taken into custody Thursday and arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Laurence J. McKeon on charges of endangering the welfare of children, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person.According to the affidavit of probable cause:Dr. June Elcock-Messam of Media Pediatrics discovered the alleged abuse during a physical examination of the 7-year-old. The physician discovered circular lesions on the child’s lower right leg. She also found six "hypopigmented circular scars" on her left upper thigh. Dr. Elcock-Messam felt that the injuries were consistent with the child’s account of being burned by her mother with a cigarette. The pediatrician also stated that she believed the burns were non-accidental and likely caused the child a great deal of pain when they were inflicted. During an interview with a therapist, the child stated that she was burned by her mother on her leg and thigh, and was also hit on the head and neck with a baseball bat. The girl also told the therapist that her mother refused to feed her, forcing her to fight off the family dogs to get some food. The victim said that her mother would lock her in a closet for hours, sometimes forcing her to sleep in the closet throughout the night. The girl also revealed that when the family would go out to eat, they would leave her locked in the vehicle outside. The girl told investigators that at times she was forced to sleep in a crib and drink from a baby bottle. This caused her to get "baby-bottle syndrome." As a result, she had to have 11 of her 22 teeth surgically removed because of gross decay, investigators allege. The girl also had root canal work done on four teeth because of neglect.Authorities said the 7-year-old was extremely malnourished because of the abuse. A message left at the McDonald’s home seeking comment from the child’s father was not returned.McDonald is being held in Delaware County’s prison. She has a preliminary hearing scheduled for April 19 in Collingdale District Court.
©The Daily Times 2005

On another note about Folcroft......
I got home from work yesterday to look in the mailbox to find a certified letter card.
So off I go to the Post Office to get it. About 7:00 AM. I went home from work yesterday just like every other day. Except when I arrived home I noticed an Action News van Driving down my street followed by the Medical Examiner truck. a few minutes later the CID detectives came down my street So I knew there was a problem somewhere. I then got my Daughter off the school bus. I looked up in the sky and there was news helicopter flying over my house... so I thought what the hell is going on and figured I'd go and check it out... I walked across my street and found they had Bennington rd Taped off. with The CID and Folcroft Police everywhere. Then my Mother had called me and told me it was the Borough guy. I was shocked To here this as he was a helva nice guy and I still can't believe he did this. I used to see him Walking his dog everyday. He lived across the street from me and would talk to me about his and my Trucks.
This was one of the GOOD GUYS From BENNINGTON ROAD.
a real shame.
Heres what Iam Talking about...
From the Daily Times Today .....

Elderly woman, son shot dead in Folcroft

FOLCROFT -- An elderly woman suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, along with her only son and devoted caretaker, were found dead of single gunshot wounds to the head at their borough home Thursday, police said.
James MacNeil, 49, and his mother, Mabel MacNeil, 80, were discovered in their Bennington Road home by coworkers who became concerned when MacNeil, a 30-year borough streets department employee, didn’t show up for work.
Authorities are investigating the deaths as a murder-suicide or double homicide. A weapon was recovered and there was no early indication of any third-party involvement, according to police at the scene.

Official cause and manner are pending a ruling by the county Medical Examiner’s office.

Neighbors told police they heard noises emanating from the MacNeil home between 2 and 3 a.m. Thursday.

The bodies were found in separate rooms on the second floor; James MacNeil was in the bathroom, his mother in a bedroom, according to Ruskowski.

The family dog, a Beagle named "Duchess," was also shot and killed.

"We’re investigating this as a murder-suicide, or homicide," Cpl. Robert D. Ruskowski said.

A gun but no note was recovered, Cpl. William Wiseley said.

Borough employees cried when they heard the news. Neighbors who were drawn outside by the late-afternoon police activity were stunned and saddened.

"He was her Lone Ranger," Tom McCormick said at borough hall, just hours after he discovered his lifelong friend and coworker. "He was a helluva guy. Somebody has to speak up for Jimmy."

MacNeil’s commitment to his mother was well known, as were the mounting pressures since she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, a neighborhood woman said.

Borough secretaries said MacNeil’s challenges at home never interfered with his work or curbed his good-hearted nature.

"Really, Jimmy was the guy who would do anything for you," said secretary Toni Melograno.

Ed Christie, who recently retired as police chief to run for magisterial district judge, said he saw MacNeil picking up trash around borough hall on weekends when he was off the clock.

"Jimmy said he thought he should give back to the community," Christie said.

According to McCormick, MacNeil had been his mother’s lone caretaker in recent years. He was adamant about keeping her at home, though many people suggested he should put her in a nursing home.

"He did the shopping and the cooking. He cleaned her, dressed her, fed her and gave her medication," McCormick said. "Jimmy did everything for her."

MacNeil was just shy of 6 when his father died, McCormick said. "Ever since, it was him and his mom."

McCormick, who also resides on Bennington, described Mrs. McNeil as a hard-working farm girl from Virginia. At one point, she worked at Fiber Metals, he said.

He said it was tough for MacNeil to watch his mother’s decline.

"She was starting to get bad," said McCormick, adding she would wander the neighborhood and MacNeil would worry about her, especially when he was at work.

Working for the streets department, he said MacNeil would stop by when he was in the area, and would come home every day for lunch.

"She loved her Frosted Flakes," he said. "And her coffee."

MacNeil was never one to miss a day’s work without calling in, he said. When MacNeil was a no-show Thursday, their boss, Dan Falcone, rode by the house. When he saw the front door open, he didn’t think anything was amiss.

When there was still no word by 2 p.m., McCormick and Falcone went by the house. McCormick observed MacNeil’s truck was still in the garage, and Falcone noticed running water.

"I knew something was wrong," said McCormick. He went inside and made the discovery. The running water was an isolated plumbing problem and unrelated to the deaths.

McCormick said it breaks his heart to think that MacNeil may have thought he ran out of options.

"Sooner or later, he knew he had to do something," McCormick said.

MacNeil had recently reached out for help with his mother, to find someone who could be with her during the day when he was at work, but McCormick said he was intimidated by all the necessary paperwork.

"They said they would help him," McCormick said. "You know how they did, they just stuck the pile of papers at his front door.

"Jimmy was too proud to ask for help," McCormick said. "He wanted to do things himself."

McCormick said MacNeil’s life revolved around his mother, his work and his truck. He also loved his pets. Before Duchess, they had another Beagle named Digger.

"He went everywhere with his dog," Wiseley said.

The Medical Examiner is expected to perform the autopsies today, an office investigator said late Thursday.

Sun East Federal Credit Union SUCKS!

Well its Tuesday January 11 2005. about 12:00 P.M. Well first off Happy New Year.
Now for my main subject today.... Sun East Federal Credit Union Sucks. I made a mac deposit at sun east on sunday morning to cover checks I had out. When I looked at the account on monday my deposit wasnt on there. I waited until about 3:00 then they tried to take out the checks and of course my deposit was put in after they tried to take out the money for the checks I had out. So they hit me with 12 non suff. check fees of $ 27.00 so I now very very pissed off at them. so what I deposited on sunday now went to them for return check fees the bitch of this is most of the return checks were for under $10.00 dollars a piece so now the checks for $10.00 now cost me 37.00 each not to mention the company I mailed the checks to will probablly charge me for a return check fee for each check. I feel like going and Choke someone at Sun East. This is BullShit! I guess you know by now I will be changing banks This week! So heres to you Sun East.... But I really think 21.75 a person and 16.50 a child is a little steep. a cheeseburger was 5.75 a 16 oz bottle of water was 2.00 I spent 39.00 on lunch for my wife daughter and I. A little crazy don't you think?
Then on top of that I had to park 3 blocks away in Franklin inst. other lots and it cost 14.50 for 3 hours which was also more Bullshit for parking. oh well talk to you later M

Thursday

Well its Thursday November 11, 2004 about 7:00 AM. This weekend was way too short for me. I went Shooting at Target Master on Friday night tried out my buddy Tommy's laser on his Glock. It was cool it makes me want to buy a Glock which I said I would never do. You don't even need to aim the gun when you have a laser where to red dot is is where the bullet will be. I have to get one. I only stayed there about 35 minutes We got there at 9:15 they close at 10:00 so we left. On Sunday we were in a hurry to get home and unload the Truck. I unloaded the bed of the Truck and didnt close the Tail gate and My wife had to go to the cemetary to visit her Mother on her birthday and was running late the cemetary closes at 4:00 on Sunday so she took off and didnt realize that the tail gate wasn't closed and drove up the street. And My Daughters Christmas presents were in the bed and flew out on the street she didnt know the stuff flew out for about 3 blocks away when someone had pulled her over to tell her the stuff flew out. Of course she flew back where he said the stuff had come out but there was nothing left on the street. We lost one of those new V smile electronic game systems and various other stuff totaling about $100.00. Oh well it really pisses me off that within 1 minute the pack rats flew out of their houses to get our stuff but God forbid if someone needed help no one would be around. What can we do? We learned a valuble lesson MAKE SURE THE TAIL GATE IS SHUT FIRST. And dont look to people to be Honest.
DAMN FOLCROFT RESIDENTS. Well its Monday morning again already. This weekend I went to Targetmaster for my biweekly Shooting. check out their web site at : www.Targetmaster.com . As usual Tom was their ( the older retired cop with the Smith & Wesson 500) . I finally got around to renting the Smith & Wesson 500 handgun and let me tell you it is a monster. It has one hell of a kick, it is the most powerful handgun in the world. firing this monster after firing my 40 cal. SigPro made my gun feel like a pellet gun. (the S&W 500 uses a 50 cal bullet) I would really like to buy one of these. Someday maybe, maybe by the time I have enough money to buy one they will come out with something bigger. Check out this monster at : http://www.smith-wesson.com/
oh well thats about all I have to talk about so talk with you later M.

Thanks Middletown Fire Company

Its Thursday September 30, 2004 about 10:00 AM. "It’s an official investigation that is still under way," said Assistant District Attorney Joseph Brillman, spokesman for District Attorney G. Michael Green. "Due to that fact, we will not have any further comment." Police and Fraternal Order of Police representatives have expressed outrage at the actions of borough officials and the lagging response from the Delaware County District Attorney’s Office. "I’m looking for him (Truscello) and (council Vice President Joseph) Zito to be prosecuted," said FOP President Joe Fitzgerald at Tuesday’s meeting.Fitzgerald told the Daily Times he had met with officials in the District Attorney’s office about the investigation. According to Fitzgerald, he was told that officials have enough probable cause for an arrest, but they are concerned there is not enough for a conviction."The D.A. should turn this over to the state for investigation," Fitzgerald said. "It’s too good of a case for them to lose or bury."Fitzgerald said the police union is also in the process of filing a civil lawsuit over the matter in federal court. Truscello continued to proclaim he is innocent of any wrongdoing. He admitted hiring a firm to install the surveillance devices, but claims he was protecting the interests of the borough after receiving complaints police were sleeping on duty."I wasn’t doing anything illegal," said Truscello, a former district justice who is still certified by the state to be a senior district justice. "I know what we did was right."Records show that the surveillance -- which also included private investigators tailing cops for a two-week period -- cost about $10,000. The spy equipment in police headquarters was discovered earlier this year. Police Chief Ed Christie, after hearing rumors of surveillance for about two years, hired Gregory J. Auld, a retired FBI agent and licensed private investigator, to sweep the police department for bugs.Auld determined there were several pinhole cameras placed in smoke detectors -- one in a hallway, one in the squad room and one in the evidence room, according to the affidavit of probable cause, supporting a raid on borough hall by county detectives in May. It was later determined one of the cameras had a microphone installed in it, making it capable of eavesdropping, according to the affidavit of probable cause. On April 29, one of Auld’s tapes showed two men arriving at the police station carrying a long box, according to the affidavit. They removed the smoke detector and put it into the box. Auld’s tape showed a man in a baseball cap in the evidence room, where wires were seen hanging from the ceiling, the affidavit states.Truscello was asked about unauthorized people being inside of the police evidence room. His response was he had been in the evidence room to measure it because he wanted to rent it out. He claimed that Christie let him in the locked room. Christie vehemently denied ever allowing Truscello inside the locked room. Law enforcement officials have acknowledged that the fact that unauthorized individuals were inside of the evidence room could compromise many court cases. Both Truscello and Zito claim the cameras were installed in May and were only operational for about one week. However, records show a bill for the devices was submitted for payment as far back as March 2003. The bill submitted by the private investigator hired to tail the officers was for a two-week period in March 2004.Zito said he could not remember when borough council approved the bills, but he guessed it was in May.Kenneth Rocks, a national FOP vice president, noted that when police officers want to install surveillance equipment for a criminal case, they must first get approval from a federal judge."I never heard of anywhere in the country where the town manager has the officers followed," Rocks said. "And for what? Sleeping on duty?"

FOLCROFT -- Police Officer Leslie McLean is appalled and angered about being spied on by top borough officials. She also is calling for the District Attorney’s office to step up to the plate and take the appropriate actions."I don’t understand this," McLean said. "If somebody stuck a camera in someone’s window and was watching them take their clothes off, is that not criminal?" Surveillance cameras installed by borough Manager/Senior District Justice Anthony Truscello and council Vice President Joseph Zito, were found in the police locker room where officers changed. McLean, who was hired in February, said it is disturbing to know she may have been watched as she undressed."The cameras installed in hallways have been there for almost two years," she said. "I get there, and a month later they stick them in a locker room and in our squad room. I don’t understand that."It’s a lot more unsettling when you have to view the tapes," she added.McLean said the violation of privacy extends to the male officers and crime victims, as well."You have girls in there who have been raped, giving statements, and they were being watched," she said. "It’s appalling."McLean said the officers she works with are "the best." She is also encouraged by the show of support from the community. But the betrayal by borough officials, she said, is a kick in the gut. "If you think about that, we’re the people hired to protect them, yet you don’t trust us enough to do the job," she said. When asked what she believes is Truscello’s motive for spying on police, McLean said she thinks it is about power and control."People in that department don’t bow down and praise him, like certain people in the county do," she said. "He has a vendetta against those who don’t treat him as the end all to be all." McLean, the mother of two young children, said she spent six days a week going to the police academy and to college to become a police officer."They teach us ethics and how to treat people, but here are people who are supposed to be on our side, and they’re the ones we have to worry about," she said.

Joe Mongelluzzo in Folcroft

From The Daily Times:

Fellow riders bid farewell to a biker

NORWOOD -- Bob Daniels loved sharing the road with fellow Harley-Davidson enthusiast Joe Mongelluzzo. "We used to pick up and go everywhere," said Daniels, president of the Media-area Harley Owners Group, or HOG. "Our last ride was to Gettysburg and Joe was his usual self, laughing and joking."
This in spite of the fact that Mongelluzzo, 71, was about to receive his first round of chemotherapy for lung cancer. "I remember him telling me ‘Here I am battling cancer but I don’t feel like any of the people I see in the hospital,’" Daniels recalled As the chemotherapy treatments dragged on, Mongelluzzo, a retired metal lather, began to feel more and more like the people he considered to be really sick. "Even after his first two chemo treatments, he would come home and take a ride," said his wife of 52 years, Mary Mongelluzzo. "It was the third treatment that did something to his lungs. He just couldn’t breathe anymore."After two weeks of hospice care at his home on Taylor Drive in Folcroft, Mongelluzzo died Sept. 16, but not before learning of his family’s plan to give him one last ride with his second family."When he saw what we were planning it made him smile," Mary said. While funeral parlors and church pews are often filled with somber music and awkward silence, the kind words and biblical passages spoken Tuesday in memory of Joe Mongelluzzo were accompanied by the growl of exhaust making its way through the tailpipes of more than three dozen Harleys."We wanted to send him out in hog style," Mary said. "Everyone thinks bikers are these tough guys but they are the softest-hearted people you’ll ever meet. Joe would love this."With the help of a hearse company that specializes in services for motorcycle lovers, Mongelluzzo, dressed in his riding gear, went to his resting place surrounded by the people who loved him most.In place of a traditional limousine hearse, the flag-draped casket carrying the Korean War veteran and father of four was transported from Cavanagh Family Funeral Home to St. Gabriel Church to SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery in a 19th century-styled stagecoach. Made by the Tombstone Hearse Company in Alum Bank, Pa., the glass-enclosed, black hearse sported four gold lanterns, curtains and tassels. Best of all, it was pulled by a Harley-Davidson motortrike."This was a great way for the family to show people the kind of person Joe was," Mongelluzzo friend and riding buddy Dean Keyes of Media said as he stood in front of the funeral home. "You see all these clusters of people around. If Joe were here, he would be the guy with 30 people around him laughing."When funeral director Paul Cavanagh spoke with the family about Joe’s life, he thought an alternative service might be a good fit."From what I understand, this is the first of its kind in this area," Cavananagh said. "We are always up for personalizing a service, but having a Harley in the viewing room next to the casket is a first."Co-founder of Tombstone Hearse, Jack Feathers, said most people are pleasantly surprised when they see his hog and pony show roll by."The way I look at it, we are creating a lasting memory for the loved ones," Feathers said. "Instead of having a guy who stands next to a Lincoln or a Caddy smoking a cigarette, we set up early, wear uniforms (knee-high boots, Texas ties and black pants) and have an almost military-style about us."When we got into this business, I never expected it to be so fulfilling but that is just what’s happened. We have found a way to bring peace and happiness to people in a time that is usually filled with sorrow."Feathers believes his company is a perfect fit for the Baby Boomer generation. "These guys have been breaking the rules and cutting new ground since the 1960s," he said. "Why should they be buried any differently?"There was still plenty of sadness to go around Tuesday as Joe Mongelluzzo’s sons, Joe Jr. and Eddie revved up their bikes and took the lead position in their father’s funeral procession. A parade of misty-eyed bikers, most dressed in denim and leather, followed behind the Harley-drawn hearse with a roar that friends and family of Mongelluzzo found heavenly."I can’t think of a more appropriate sendoff," Vicki Montgomery of Concord Township said before she jumped on the back of her husband Ed’s 100th anniversary Harley-Davidson Softail. "I got chills. I would absolutely love it if someone did this for me."

Cat Stevens Deported

AP: Cat Stevens Deported Due To Potential Terrorist Ties
Singer Converted To Islam In 1970s

The Associated Press says the singer formerly known as Cat Stevens was placed on a watch list after multiple intelligence sources indicated he may have associations with potential terrorists.

A London-to-Washington flight carrying the singer formerly known as Cat Stevens was diverted to Maine on Tuesday and the singer was removed from the plane.
Stevens had recently been placed on a government "no-fly" list after U.S. authorities received information indicating associations with potential terrorists, a government official said Wednesday.
The flight was diverted to Bangor, Maine, on Tuesday afternoon after U.S. officials who checked the passenger list learned the singer was aboard. Federal agents met United Airlines Flight 919 and interviewed Stevens, whose name now is Yusuf Islam.
The government official, who spoke only on condition of anonymity, said Islam was placed on a watch list after multiple intelligence sources in recent weeks indicated the peace activist may have associations with potential terrorists.
Airlines have access to watch lists and are supposed to screen passengers to make sure those deemed direct threats to aviation do not board planes. The official said it was unclear why United Airlines personnel allowed Islam to get on the flight in London.
A call to the airline was not immediately returned.
Homeland Security Department spokesman Dennis Murphy said Islam was "denied admission to the United States on national security grounds" and was expected to be sent back to London on Wednesday.
A second government official, who also spoke on condition of anonymity, said U.S. authorities think donations from Islam may have ended up helping to fund blind sheik Omar Abdel-Rahman, who was convicted for the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, and Hamas, a Palestinian militant group considered a terrorist organization by the United States and Israel.
In July 2000, Islam was deported hours after arriving in Jerusalem. A local paper reported then that the government claimed he had delivered tens of thousands of dollars to Hamas during a visit in 1988. Islam denied ever knowingly supporting Islamic terrorists.
Islam has made a number of trips to the United States in recent years, including one in May for a charity event and to promote a DVD of his 1976 MajiKat tour. He donated half the royalties from his most recent boxed set to the Sept. 11 Fund to help victims of the attacks.
Islam, who was born Stephen Georgiou, took Cat Stevens as a stage name and had a string of hits in the 1960s and '70s, including "Wild World" and "Morning Has Broken." Last year he released two songs, including a re-recording of his '70s hit "Peace Train," to express his opposition to the U.S.-led war in Iraq.
He abandoned his music career in the late 1970s and changed his name after being persuaded by orthodox Muslim teachers that his lifestyle was forbidden by Islamic law. He later became a teacher and an advocate for his religion, founding a Muslim school in London in 1983.
Islam founded Islamia Primary school in London in 1983. In 1998, it became the first Muslim school in Britain to receive government support, on the same basis as Christian and other sectarian schools.
Islam drew some negative attention in the late 1980s when he supported the Ayatollah Khomeini's death sentence against Salman Rushdie, author of "The Satanic Verses." Recently, though, Islam has criticized terrorist acts, including the Sept. 11 attacks and the school seizure in Beslan, Russia, earlier this month that left more than 300 dead, nearly half of them children.
In a statement on his Web site, he wrote, "Crimes against innocent bystanders taken hostage in any circumstance have no foundation whatsoever in the life of Islam and the model example of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him."

More in the news about Folcroft

Good old Judge Truscello in the paper again

From The Daily Times :

FOLCROFT -- In a strong show of support for borough police, more than 300 people crammed into the municipal gym Tuesday night, many demanding the prosecution of borough Manager Anthony Truscello and council President Joseph Zito for their alleged illegal surveillance of police. "I call on the District Attorney to vigorously prosecute this case," said Kenneth Rocks, national vice president of the Fraternal Order of Police. "Not only does it violate the law, but it violates the rights of the officers."At issue is what was discovered during a raid on borough hall by county detectives in May -- video equipment, about a dozen videotapes, a series of cables and other devices -- including a device used to hook up a tape recorder to a telephone line. Police also have copies of bills showing taxpayers footed nearly $10,000 in bills for the spy equipment. A crowd began gathering well before the 7 p.m. council meeting. Residents wanted to know why their tax dollars were being spent to spy on cops."Tell me where my money is going," demanded Julia Ford. "Taxes ain’t cheap. Leave my money out of it."Police officers from across the county were on hand to support their colleagues in Folcroft."The D.A.’s office hasn’t done anything," said FOP President Joe Fitzgerald. "We want it turned over to the state."Union members were there en masse: Teamsters Local 312, Steamfitters 420, Local 98 Electricians, Elevator Operators Local. So were members and officers of the borough’s Boys and Girls Clubs.Shortly before 7 p.m., people began filing into the small council chambers. At one point, some were told to leave because of overcrowding. This prompted the crowd outside to demand the meeting be moved to the gym.At one point, Truscello picked up his cell phone and called the emergency dispatcher to send state police because of the unruly crowd at the meeting. But the state troopers never showed. One of the many officers on hand noted that there were enough police in the building to handle the well-behaved crowd. The meeting was moved, and council took its seats on the bleachers on stage. Truscello hid behind a curtain next to the stage, prompting one person to loudly dub him the "Wizard of Oz." During the public comment portion of the meeting, speaker after speaker expressed outrage at the situation. Many demanded the resignation of Truscello, Zito and council. They also wanted to know who on council approved spending $10,000 on spy equipment. Their questions were never answered. The meeting ended about 8:30. As the large crowd began to disperse, they began to chant, "Truscello must go, Truscello must go."

Tuesday

Its Tuesday September 21, 2004 about 9:00 AM. Well I finally got a chance to download my vacation photos at http://www.icemansta.com/pages/3/index.htm so check them out. It was really cool to be able to feed the deer from our deck. We drove around in Locust Lake Village and seen hundreds of deer, my daughter even feed 3 or 4 of them right from our truck. They actually even walked right up to our truck door so she could pet them. I havent seen anything like that since I was at six Flags Great Adventure Safari. If you would like more info on Locust lakes click here www.LocustLakesVillage.org its about 15 miles off exit 95 (old Exit 35) of the North East Extension of The Pennsylvania Turnpike. just off Route 940 just outside of Blakeslee. It is always a great place to visit for me. Of course my wife really likes the shore, I really like the mountains I guess I have a lot of my Grand Father in me. He was raised in Hazelton. Which by the way I really miss you Pop. Especially when I go to the Poconos, I used to take him everytime I went. I even took him up there with me for senior week. My Grand Father was the Greatest to me. I really Loved him. It broke my heart when he died. I REALLY, REALLY MISS HIM ! By the way Pop they closed our Coney Island Hot Dog place down in Hazelton. That really sucks they made the worlds BEST chili sauce for hot dogs. It had been a long tradition with my family that anytime one of us would go upstate we would stop and buy a few pints of sauce for him. My Uncle Harold even flipped his car on the way to Hazelton... for you guessed it...... The chili sauce. oh well thats enough for now talk with you later M.
P.S. Pop I Love You. The project will be done in time. Talk to ya later. M Here is more on the robbery:

FOLCROFT -- Police are circulating surveillance photos of one of two suspects in Wednesday’s robbery at the Wachovia Bank. Though the face is covered, investigators are hoping that someone might recognize the body features and/or stance of the person seen holding onto the arm of the bank manager during the fast-paced crime.
Witnesses described two women as the culprits -- similar to suspects in the robbery of the Commerce Bank in Brookhaven a week ago today.
Cpl. Robert Ruskowski and Officer Christopher Eiserman are leading the probe in the Wachovia heist, which was reported about 12:45 p.m. Tuesday at the branch on Delmar Drive. The women’s faces were partially covered when they entered the bank. Both headed toward a separate teller and verbally demanded cash. They implied having a weapon by the way they hid their hand in the clothing, police said, but no weapon was displayed. At one point, one of the women pushed one of the bank employees, but there were no physical injuries.According to police, the women left the bank cupping money in their hands. They fled in a white car, which sped down a rear alley behind an adjacent strip mall. The alley ends at Grant Road.Meanwhile, Brookhaven is continuing an investigation into a robbery last week in which two women in wigs and sunglasses robbed the Commerce Bank on Edgmont Avenue. No weapon was displayed or implied in that case, according to Officer Rick Fuller. And in Radnor, authorities are investigating a possible link into what they described as "a suspicious circumstance" at a Fleet Bank Monday afternoon. A woman in a wig entered the bank and inquired about opening an account. When she was pushed to present proper identification, she left.An alert teller had read about the robbery in Brookhaven in the Daily Times and contacted authorities based on similarities in behavior and appearance, according to Radnor Sgt. Sue Cory. Anyone with information is asked to call Folcroft Police at (610) 522-1300.

Bank robbed in Folcroft

Well its Wednesday August 18, 2004 about 8:00 AM. well only a week and a half till I go on vacation and I cant wait! I am almost done the remodel work and it should be done in time. Ive been working on these damn rooms too long. I think Iam getting burnt out. Hopefully it will get done before I go on vacation. I still havent got my brothers web site together. at www.DunlapRoofing.net . You can check out my buddy Frans web site at : www.TotallyDelco.com its just been "remodeled" its pretty cool. I just heard the Bank in Folcroft got robbed last night, My town is going to shit. here is the story :

Thelma and Louise: Two women sought in another bank heist

The hunt is on for two women whom authorities suspect have robbed at least two banks - including the Wachovia Bank in Folcroft, where they made off with literally handfuls of cash Tuesday afternoon. Authorities suspect the pair is connected to a heist at a Commerce Bank in Brookhaven last Thursday. Additionally, police in Radnor are investigating a possible link to what Sgt. Sue Cory called "a suspicious circumstance" at a Fleet Bank Monday afternoon.
According to Folcroft Police Cpl. Robert Ruskowski, two women entered the Wachovia branch on Delmar Drive about 12:45 p.m. Tuesday. Their faces were partially covered as they each approached a separate teller and verbally demanded cash."They implied they had a weapon by the way they held their hands in their pocket," said Ruskowski, who is leading the investigation with Officer Christopher Eiserman. They didn't wait long enough to place the undetermined amount of cash in a bag. They left cupping the cash in their hands, he said. The bank building was immediately secured with yellow tape and a note was taped to the front door stating that the facility was temporarily closed. There were no customers in the bank at the time of the robbery, only five bank employees. Brookhaven police arrived at the bank within a short period of time, as did a number of federal agents. The Commerce Bank on Edgmont Avenue in Brookhaven was robbed shortly after 7 p.m. last Thursday. The suspects were then described as two females wearing wigs and sunglasses. There was no weapon displayed or implied in that case.Brookhaven Officer Rick Fuller was on the scene in Folcroft, along with Investigator Randolph McGoldrick. From what information they had obtained, Fuller said he suspected an ongoing spree."We think they are the same women," he said. Police at the scene said an incident in Radnor might also be connected. Sgt. Cory credited an alert Fleet Bank teller for making required notifications during a transaction with a female customer wearing a wig about noon Monday. The woman said she wanted to open an account at the Rosemont branch - similar to the method of operation in the Brookhaven case. Cory said the teller had read about the Brookhaven robbery in the Daily Times. Though no crime was committed, Cory said an investigation is under way because of the similarities. The woman entered the Fleet Bank alone, though it appeared she arrived at the bank in a car with two other females and a male driver, according to Cory.A woman arriving at the Wachovia in Folcroft on a motorized scooter was obviously distraught. Ignoring the crowd-control tape, she walked up to the door and began knocking. "My sister just called me. She was personally robbed," she said.Police presence drew a small crowd of children from the area. A few late-afternoon customers were turned away, encouraged by the note on the door to do their banking at the closest branch in Sharon Hill. A woman whose family runs a nearby restaurant said she saw a white car pass quickly by the rear of her property. The car was traveling so fast it scared her, said the woman, who asked to remain anonymous. The restaurant is one of several businesses in a strip located next to the bank. An alley behind the strip mall empties onto Grant Road. Authorities had no statistics readily available, but many were at a loss to remember a bank robbery involving females. "I've been a police officer for 35 years and it's a first for me," said Fuller.Likewise, Cory characterized it as uncommon, historically. "It's unusual for women to be involved in high-end crimes," she said, "but times have changed."Police are asking anyone who may have seen or heard anything to call Folcroft police at (610) 522-1300.

Monday yet again

Its Monday August 16, 2004 about 7:30 AM. Folcroft Police Chief Ed Christie said as many as 30 law enforcement officers from surrounding areas assisted in the probe that resulted in the swift arrest of 57-year-old Vernon Lawton of Philadelphia.
Charged with first-degree murder and related offenses, Lawton is accused of gunning down his wife’s apparent lover outside a borough tavern. Victim Michael O’Brien, 44, of Ardmore, formerly of Folcroft, died in an ambulance of multiple gunshot wounds while being transported to a hospital. "The officers decided" to move interviews to Darby Township, said Christie, adding that he did not object to the reasoning. "They felt (Folcroft police headquarters) was not the proper facility to interview" several people at once, including murder suspect Lawton."This was a serious crime," said Christie. We moved things to Darby Township" without any added concern of lapses in certain expectations of privacy. In May, county investigators confiscated video equipment and about a dozen videotapes from the borough municipal building, which houses both district court and police headquarters.Christie and other officers began to hear rumors of surveillance in the borough building two years ago. The chief met with county authorities in the spring and two detectives subsequently combed the building for illegal devices. Christie also hired a private investigator to sweep the police department for bugs. In a prepared statement later, Borough Manager Anthony Truscello said he and Public Safety Chairman Joseph Zito and his committee installed three surveillance cameras because of complaints they received about police officers sleeping on the night shift.Christie previously called the explanation "baloney." Any concerns brought to Christie’s attention were always handled quickly, he said. The chief knew of only one incident regarding an officer sleeping on the night shift and he resigned."The problem was brought to our attention and corrected," he said.Even without the concern for privacy, Christie said there was a sheer matter of space to accommodate all the necessary interviews that were conducted Wednesday night. Police lost about a third of their space about a month ago, he said. The decision by borough officials was made to accommodate analternative school, slated for opening in September. There is no conference area and the chief’s office is doubling as an evidence room,’’ he noted.

More on the shooting

FOLCROFT -- A jealous husband pumped numerous bullets into his wife’s lover outside a local bar Wednesday night as she watched in horror, police said. Vernon Lawton, 57, of the 200 block of East Mermaid Lane, Philadelphia, who police said is a securities analyst for the Federal Reserve Bank in Philadelphia, is behind bars, without bail, charged with first- and third-degree murder. He is accused of shooting former borough resident Michael O’Brien as he stood outside of the Delmar Tavern. "I just lost my best friend," said a distraught man who identified himself as O’Brien’s brother Thursday morning. He declined to give his name and requested privacy for his family.According to police, O’Brien, 44, who lived in Ardmore, had been having an affair with Lawton’s wife, June Lawton, 49, for about one year. A painter, O’Brien previously lived around the corner from the bar.The Lawtons had lived in Folcroft, but recently moved to the Chestnut Hill section of Philadelphia, police said.Lawton apparently tracked down his wife and O’Brien and confronted them in the bar at 2012 Delmar Drive at about 7:51 p.m., according to authorities.June Lawton and O’Brien had been to several bars earlier in the evening, police said. They had just arrived at Delmar Tavern and had ordered drinks when Lawton walked in, according to police.Lawton ordered his wife to leave. He and O’Brien exchanged words, and Lawton allegedly told O’Brien to step outside, police said.As June Lawton left the bar with her husband, O’Brien followed. As the door closed behind him, bar patrons told police they heard five or six shots. There was a pause, then two more shots were fired, police said.Hearing gunfire, bar patrons ran outside. They saw the fatally wounded O’Brien on the ground and Lawton jumping into a black SUV. O’Brien was transported to Crozer-Chester Medical Center. He was pronounced dead by trauma surgeon Dr. Steven Fukuchi at 8:33 p.m. He died of numerous gunshot wounds to the chest, abdomen and head, according to the affidavit of probable cause. Officer Chris Eiserman, who was only blocks away when the shots were fired, arrived at the bar moments later. "My husband shot him," June Lawton allegedly told the officer.Witnesses told Eiserman that Lawton was driving westbound on Delmar Drive toward Norwood and he broadcast that information over police radio.About five minutes later, County Detective Adam Sendek spotted the SUV turning onto Route 420 from Chester Pike. When Lawton turned onto southbound I-95, several officers gave chase.Lawton spotted police and accelerated, driving at a high rate of speed, according to police. Eddystone Officer Edmund Kienzle and Ridley Park Officer John Morris stopped him at the Blue Route entrance. As he was ordered out of the vehicle, Lawton identified himself as Vernon Lawton, police said. When asked where he was coming from, he allegedly replied, "Folcroft, the bar, I just shot a guy in the bar."On the front seat of his SUV, sticking out of a bag, was a Walther .380 automatic pistol, according to the affidavit. The magazine, which holds eight bullets, was empty. Lawton does not have a license to carry a gun, police said.Lawton was taken into custody without incident. Don Caso, owner of the Delmar Tavern, said O’Brien was a regular. "He was a painter and traveled a lot," he said. "But he hasn’t been in here for about five months.""He was a nice guy, very quiet, a regular in here," said Danyelle Winter, a former bar employee. District Justice Steven Sandone arraigned Lawton at 4:30 a.m. in Darby Township. In addition to first- and third-degree murder, he is charged with simple and aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, firearms not to be carried without a license and possessing an instrument of crime.O’Brien’s murder marks the first homicide in Folcroft in at least a decade. It is the county’s 14th murder this year. A spokeswoman for the Federal Reserve Bank refused to confirm whether or not Lawton was an employee. Eiserman and county detective Michael Palmer are the lead investigators

Friday once again

Today is Friday August 13, 2004 about 8:00 AM. well its the weekend again, I cant wait till 3:00 PM. We had a blast last night though.
we bought a case of 40 cal. bullets. We had lanes next to a older police officer. he was shooting a Smith & Wesson 500 (50 cal.) handgun. Man that is a hell of a handgun, not to mention the loud explosion every time he fired it. that gun made it hard for me to aim (it actualy gave me a headache) the guy offer me a chance to fire it but by then my head was killing me, so I went into the lobby. He also offer my brother and cousin a chance and they took him up on the offer. they told me it had one hell of a kick. I was going to rent the same gun from TargetMaster but at $10.00 for the gun and $44.00 for a 20 box of bullets the price is a little steep. Maybe the guy will be there next time and I'll get a chance to fire it. Oh Fran if your having a problem with your roof check out my home page. (yeah I know my brother wanted to kill me for doing that to him. but really he is one hell of a roofer.)
